\”We Have Come\” is meant to be a worship song for times of struggle, but it goes well with the Exodus story, the wandering in the desert (\”by all you steadfast love\”), and the description of the survivors of \”the great ordeal\” in Revelation 7.  The opening lines were inspired by the song \”By Way of Sorrow\” by Julie and Buddy Miller.  The rest of the song flowed from there.  

\”To lay our burdens down,\” of course, comes from the song \”Glory Glory, Hallelujah.\”  \”Taste your boundless grace\” is from Psalm 34, \”O taste and see that the HOLY ONE is good.\”
