\”More Light\” is written as a prayer for illumination, asking for the Holy Spirit\’s help before scripture is read in worship. The Song is based on words from the last sermon given by Pastor John Robinson to the Pilgrims before they left for North America: \”[God] hath yet more light and truth to break forth from [God\’s] holy word.\”
Churches will sometimes use this as a gospel acclamation, singing it both before and after the reading. It has also been used after the sermon.

Hello!
We would like to use “More Light” in our worship service during the month of February as a prayer song. We record our services and upload them to Facebook and YouTube. We are seeking permission to have “More Light” appear in our uploaded video recordings during February 2022. If you are able to give permission, how do we annotate proper credit on the videos? If you’re not able to give permission, the song will not appear in the uploaded video.
